A Toronto restaurant is rewarding a hungry resident who had his heartbroken when he went to the establishment in the midst of a severe snowstorm and found the building closed. Niceys Eatery, a Caribbean restaurant, issued a statement on Instagram after security cameras captured the unfortunate experience of the devastated loyal customer, who turned away at the door.

"To our loyal customer, we don't know who you are but we will be looking out for you," the restaurant wrote. "We are terribly sorry the restaurant was closed. We feel your disappointment and hope to see you soon. What ever you had on your mind to purchase today, that meal is on us."

The viral video showed the customer struggling to get to the restaurant as he walked through the thick layer of snow that came up to his knee. When he finally got to the door, the customer saw that the restaurant was closed. He then fell to his knees like he was mourning the loss of a loved one.

The devastated Toronto resident then turned back and dragged his feet through the pile of snow to walk away empty-handed.

Many social media users commended the restaurant for rewarding the customer.

According to blogTO, the roads of Toronto have been buried in historic amounts of snow in recent days, shutting down highways and causing major problems for public transit, air travel and mail delivery. Some businesses opted to close during the snowstorm. Food delivery systems have also been interrupted.
