Since largely retiring from the rap game, André 3000 has often been seen popping up in various parts of the globe playing what has become his signature flute.

On Sunday, a fan tweeted out a brief but joyous video of the famed rap legend, appearing seemingly out of nowhere and armed with his trusty flute. Last July, a fan saw him playing the instrument while strolling about Philly. A month before that, he was seen aimlessly walking about Los Angeles International Airport with his flute in tow.

The video of the beloved rapper inspired dozens of other people to share their own brief interactions with the famed musician. In an otherwise unpredictable — if not, disheartening — climate it appears these sightings are one of the few things we can count on.

Multiple threads highlighted just how often people have spotted the Outkast rapper at gas stations, dance studios or in parks.

During a public yoga class, one eagle-eyed fan took a video of him practicing his flute.

Someone found him alone, with the same flute, at a Starbucks too.

People shared dozens of photos of themselves with the music icon who is often found casually strolling around town.

The comment sections for each post are filled with photos from people who came across André 3000 randomly.

The Grammy-winner has obtained near-mythical status since largely retiring from the rap game nearly a decade ago.

While he never officially retired, he has been open in interviews about his social anxiety and his fears about releasing new music that did not live up to the award-winning albums he and Big Boi used to release.

In an interview in December, he spoke with Rick Rubin about his struggles making new music.

“I haven’t been making much music, man. My focus is not there. My confidence is not there. I tinker a lot. I’ll just go to a piano and sit my iPhone down and just record what I’m doing. Move my fingers around and whatever happens, but I haven’t been motivated to do a serious project," he said during the interview on the Broken Record podcast.

"I’d like to, but it’s just not coming. In my own self I’m trying to figure out where do I sit? I don’t even know what I am and maybe I’m nothing. Maybe I’m not supposed to be anything. Maybe my history is kind of handicapping in a way,” he added.

But it seems his retreat from public life has made his fans love him even more.

His random sightings have become the stuff of legends now and endeared him to even more fans.

Keep your eyes peeled and phone ready in case you spot him in your city!
