Olympic gymnast Simone Biles has rewritten history books once more after bringing home her 24th and 25th world championship medals in gymnastics.

At 22 years old, she's now the world's most decorated gymnast after taking home the gold for both balance beam and floor exercise, respectively, during the world championships in Stuttgart, Germany, on Sunday, surpassing  Belarusian Vitaly Scherbo's legendary record of 23 world championship gold medals.

Prior to her record-breaking wins, Biles' determination and focus radiated through her humble comments on her previous world championship placements, as well as her hopes for this year's competition.

“My main goal is to go out there and compete beam with confidence, and hopefully do well in that event because I know how strong I am,” Biles reportedly told
USA Today. “Even though I got a bronze, I’m hoping for a little bit better because I know I’m capable of it.”

Overall, the athletic dynamo gathered five gold medals from routines this weekend — the first time she's done so at the world championships. Biles ultimately left the world championships with a total of 19 gold medals, beating her own record.

Now, the powerhouse gymnast has her eyes set on the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
