Journalist Sir Trevor McDonald, rapper Tinie Tempah, actress Thandie Newton, and model/fashion icon Naomi Campbell are among an extensive list of prolific black British public figures who will be featured in the National Portrait Gallery per BBC News.

The exhibition which will be live in November 2018 and will include the portraits of 37 black British luminaries including Campbell, Newton, Tempah, McDonald, singer Laura Mvula, Vogue editor Edward Enninful, Dizzee Rascal, Member of Parliament of United Kingdom Chuka Umunna, Britain's first black Archbishop John Sentamu, Homeland actor David Harewood and more.

"These striking portraits of black British sitters powerfully reflect the diversity and variety of contemporary British achievement in public life," said Gallery Director Nicholas Cullinan.

The faces of these trailblazers are photographed by Simon Frederick who donated his entire portfolio to the art museum according to Hollywood

“Photographing with sensitivity and insight, Simon Frederick has made extraordinary portraits of some of the most influential Britons of our time," Cullinan told BBC.

Frederick took to social media to share his enthusiasm and express his gratitude.

These images will be a part of the gallery's primary collection.

“We are proud to welcome these works into our collection, where they will be seen, enjoyed, and celebrated for generations to come.”
