Public Enemy co-founder Flavor Flav rose to prominence in the mid 1980s, when hip-hop was steadily growing in popularity. Although he's no longer a member of the Grammy-nominated group, his impact on both the culture and reality television is monumental.

Unfortunately, his tenure in the industry coupled with his early success means the 61-year-old did not have the chance to be around his children often. That absence has played out with at least one child, and not much is known about the other seven. We dug up as much as we could find about his descendants, read on for a quick introduction into his large family.

1. Karen Ross-Fortunate gave birth to Flav's first three children

Dazyna, William and Shaniq are the first three of his seven children, welcoming them with ex Karen Ross-Fortunate. During a candid moment on WeTV's Growing Up Hip Hop New YorkDazyna revealed to a tearful Flav that growing up, his absence resulted in her having abandonment issues and his lack of child support payments ultimately led to her being homeless.

"Growing up was hard," she said. "It was very hard. It was not fun half the time. I had to deal with bullies and fighting. I had bumps and bruises. You not being there and stuff…it was a lot."

2. Flav has three more children with Angie Parker

The clock enthusiast has three children with ex-partner Angie Parker: daughters Kayla and Jasmine and a son named Quanah. Beyond their names, not much is known about them, but Flav did share a photo of his four girls posing alongside him on Twitter back in 2014.

Dazyna, Quanah and William all confronted Flav in an episode of Growing Up Hip-Hop: New York about how his continuous use of alcohol, coupled with his old age, could mean serious health issues in the future and urged him to seek help before it's too late.

3. Flav has a son named Karma with Liz Trujillo

Karma, The Flavor of Love star's son with Liz Trujillo, was born in 2007. Although it's unclear as of late whether they are still together, Flav did confirm they were still married in 2016.

"My son Karma, he’s nine years old right now, you know what I’m saying? And my girl, she’s at home, she’s just chilling. But yes, we’re still together after twelve years. You know what I’m saying? So I’m not mad," he told VH1.

4. A DNA test proved Flav has an eighth child

Per documents obtained by The Blast in October 2019, it was revealed that age 60, Flav was the father of a son Jordan, his eighth child. Kate Gammell, a former member of his team, is the toddler's mother.

Unfortunately, it appears as though Flav has not been contributing to his prosperity. The Source reported in April that Gammell was left with no choice but to sell Flav's belongings in effort to raise money for their child.

She wrote in a now-deleted Facebook video transcribed by The Source: "Here is my son, Jordan, surrounded by official Flavor Flav merchandise. Jordan is Flavor’s son. I used to manage Flav but no longer do due to the obvious reason. I bought tons of merchandise when I was his manager and now I need money for my son’s everyday needs because I am not getting any child support, so decided to pull out all the merch and sell it to you. It is being sold at a discount rate. I will also be donating a percentage to children’s hospital because they helped me as a kid and are really working hard now even with the coronavirus to help kids. Message me if interested."

Time will only determine whether or not Flav's children eventually follow their famous father's footsteps.
