Eminem wants to remain the only shady one and isn’t willing to share this title with anybody, including these The Real Housewives of Potomac stars.
According to a new report from The Jasmine Brand, the rapper (whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III) has filed an opposition against Robyn Dixon and Gizelle Bryant of the Bravo reality series.
The outlet shared that Eminem took this action after noticing the reality stars had filed paperwork to trademark their Reasonably Shady podcast. Dixon and Bryant launched their joint podcast in 2021 and submitted a trademark application in February 2022, as they are now interested in producing merchandise associated with their show.
The Jasmine Brand reported Eminem wasn’t too pleased with Dixon and Bryant’s move, as he believes their use of the word “shady” could confuse consumers.
“Will the real ‘SLIM SHADY’ please stand up? Rapper Eminem is opposing Robyn Dixon & Gizelle Bryant from Bravo’s [The] Real Housewives of Potomac’s trademark application for ‘REASONABLY SHADY,’ the name of their new podcast,” trademark attorney Clarissa Harvey wrote on Twitter.

Harvey shared documents showing that Eminem owns exclusive rights to “Slim Shady,” which he has been using for entertainment since 1997. She also shared the legal registration the rapper possesses for ‘Shady’ in Class 025, which allows him to use the term for T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, etc.
According to The Jasmine Brand, Eminem “directly stated” in his opposition that the similarities between his brand and Reasonably Shady could affect “the distinctive quality” of his already built labeling of “Slim Shady.”
So far, neither the rapper nor the reality stars have publicly commented on this situation.
